We are heartbroken. We are enraged. We enter yet another Passover season of ongoing genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian kin across the land from the river to the sea.

What does Passover, a Jewish holiday celebrating liberation, mean to us in 5785, amidst unfathomable destruction?

Our Jewish SWANA community members responded with art and poetry, honest and raw. The submissions included in this zine explore the themes of the Passover seder, the story of the Exodus, wisdom and trauma passed down from our ancestors, and our deepest prayers for a Free Palestine.

JSWANA Bay is honored to uplift the work of Prosthetics for Palestine. We urge you to donate what you can and share widely to support their mission of providing prosthetics for Palestinians who have lost limbs in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

As Passover approaches, a holiday of liberation, we remember: freedom is not just spiritual or symbolic. We are moved to imagine a future of liberation, justice, and peace, but it must be paired with material support to those under fire in Gaza.
